After finding confidence in poetry I felt that I could do more to push myself, so I attempted an experiment in visual abstraction. I found my artistic limits and continued on by committing to the idea of simplistic cartoon character sketches.
I developed three basic character outlines, each with their own personalities attached to their outward appearance, then practiced drawing each by hand. After which I utilized both watercolors and detail markers to complete the sketches. Then pushing myself again, I attempted digital drawing. Each process was very different in terms of craft, but I found that the product itself held the same emotional weight as characters conveyed in text.
